Driving X

Some people vouch for the effects of food on their sex drive, but extravagant claims for aphrodisiacs are not borne out by scientific studies. While sexual function may be our physical response to a cascade of hormones, sexual drive is basically maintained by an active mind in a healthy body.

A healthy sex life depends on good nutrition. Good nerve function, healthy hormone levels and an unobstructed blood flow to the pelvic area are essential to sexual performance. To keep these systems in working order, a diet should be based on legumes, grain products and other complex carbohydrates with plenty of fruits and vegetables and modest levels of proteins; this diet provides plenty of minerals and vitamins.

Particularly important are citrus fruits for Vitamin C to strength blood vessel walls. Although there are no confirming clinical studies, many experts believe that without a good supply of Vitamin E from oils, margarine, nuts, seeds, green vegetables, sexual function is likely to suffer.

The main reasons behind decrease in the sexual desire are connected with depression and fatigue. To avoid it one should do regular exercise, which stimulates the production of endorphins (mood elevating brain chemicals).

In some cases, iron deficiency anaemia may be responsible for fatigue. A diet that includes meat, fish and shellfish, nuts and seeds, legumes, enriched or fortified grains and cereals, leafy grains and dried fruits help to replenish iron stores.

Herbalists recommend saffron as a sexual stimulant, but there is no evidence of its aphrodisiac effects. Spanish Fly, an extract of dried cantharides beetles, cause irritation in the urinary tract and genitals, which some misinterpret as sexual stimulus.

To increase sex drive east plenty of fruits and vegetables for Vitamin C; oils, nuts and seeds, green vegetables for Vitamin E; meat, fish , legumes, enriched or fortified cereals for iron; poultry, eggs, milk, beans, meat, whole grains for Zinc. Please limit the consumption of saturated fats and alcohol. Raw onion plays an important role in smoothening the flow of blood circulation as well as lowering blood pressure.
